A former toothbrush factory is now home to the Upper Canada Playhouse. The air conditioned theatre hosts four plays in the summer providing entertainment for campers and those staying at the local B&Bs. The theatre also stages a series of fall and winter plays with a large dose of comedy.

Noted for atypical productions in unconventional venues in the Cabbagetown area, this theatre group also plays at venues around the city as well as the Fringe Festival. The fresh plays have been staged at such sights as old buildings and a cemetery. The company is responsible for the annual spring 'Slaw' festival, which focuses on very short, one-act plays.
