    Corrections Canada Museum

    This smaller museum housed in the former warden's home covers many aspects of the Canadian Correctional System through the ages. Compare the differences in cells from 1906 to today. View the harsh methods of punishment and restraint used at a time when the focus was on deterring rather than rehabilitating. Literary giantess Margaret Atwood accessed the museum’s information when researching for her novel ‘Alias Grace’. The museum has set hours during the months of May until October. The rest of the year is by appointment.

    Military Communications and Electronics Museum

    Radio and signal detachments have long been a part of the Canadian Armed Forces operations, from its wartime efforts to the more current peace keeping missions. With artifacts and information, visitors will learn of the events and advancements of Canadian military electronics and communication. The museum is part of the Department of National Defence, and is open to military personal and the public.

    RCAF Memorial Museum

    Located at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, this military museum houses aircraft exhibits and extensive information about the air force. This free admission spot is open daily during May to September, and Wednesday to Sunday from October to April.

    RMC Museum

    Situated on Point Frederick, the RMC Museum displays material in regards to the site, cadets and history of the Royal Military College of Canada. One collection of significance is the Douglas Arms Collection, with over 400 guns that were originally in the ownership of Mexican President, General Porfirio Diaz. The museum has regular hours from Late June until Labour Day.

    MacLachlan Woodworking Museum
    Wood and woodworking equipment has played a strong role in the progression of Canada. Through demonstrations, displays and interactive programs, MacLachlan Woodworking Museum exemplifies this development. Several events are held through out the year, including the popular Pumkinfest at the end of October. The museum is situated 16 kms east of Kingston.

    Museum of Health Care at Kingston

    Home to over 27,000 artifacts, dating from the late 1700s until the present. Visitors to the on- and offsite exhibits learn about extraordinary developments in health care.     This museum is housed in an 1864 limestone building and records regional everyday life from the late 1700s throughout the 20th century.
