Trenton Travel Guide
Welcome to Trenton!
Nationally known as the home of the Canadian Forces Base, Trenton is a southern Ontario city located between Toronto and Kingston. Lake Ontario’s waterfront trail shoulders Trenton to the south and provides ideal recreational opportunities, with facilities from campgrounds to golf courses, cycling trails to soccer fields. Freshwater sport fishing is popular along the Trent River and Bay of Quinte. The city boasts the title of the Walleye Fishing Capital of Ontario and a fishing derby is held each spring in recognition.
The National Airforce Museum of Canada and adjacent Air Park display an impressive collection of military aviation artifacts, a research library and historic aircraft. The Trent-Severn Waterway is a National Historic Site of Canada and Trenton serves as its gateway. As part of the national canal system, the impressive natural and man-made route features several locks, swing bridges and a boat railway, and stretches almost 400 km (250 mi) through central Ontario up to Georgian Bay. Visitors can get a clear view of it and the entire city from atop the Mount Pelion Lookout.
